About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on, analytically driven Finance Business Partner to support Veriff’s Product, Engineering, and Operations organizations.
You will own the financial planning, budgeting, and performance management processes for these cost centres, acting as a trusted advisor to senior leadership. This role blends traditional FP&A responsibilities with proactive business partnering, helping teams make data-driven decisions and ensuring financial discipline across the company.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Own budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for Product, Engineering, and Operations cost centres.
- Maintain and continuously update rolling forecasts in Pigment, ensuring accuracy of cost, headcount, and project-level data.
- Review and report monthly actuals vs. budget and forecast, providing insightful variance commentary.
- Identify, prepare, and communicate monthly accruals, reclasses, and adjustments to ensure correct financial reporting.
- Build and improve variance reporting and dashboards in Pigment (and other BI tools) for business leaders.
Headcount & Workforce Planning
- Partner with People and Recruiting teams to align headcount plans with budget, hiring pipeline, and Jira tickets.
- Manage ongoing headcount reconciliation and cost forecasting at employee and team levels.
- Support automation and data quality across systems (Bamboo, Pigment, Jira).
Business Partnering & Strategic Support
- Act as the primary finance contact for Product, Engineering, and Operations leaders.
- Provide financial insights and decision support on project spend, renewals, and investments (including ROI and business case analysis).
- Support with cost optimisation opportunities and help define performance metrics for efficiency.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration with HR, Accounting, and Operations to align financials with strategic priorities.
Reporting & Process Improvement
- Enhance forecasting accuracy, process automation, and reporting cadence across FP&A and business teams.
- Support system implementations and process improvements in Pigment and Omnea for spend approvals and visibility.
- Liaise with Accounting for monthly close, ensuring accruals, reclasses, and cost allocations are complete and accurate.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and support audits and controls as needed.
Ad Hoc Analysis & Projects
- Respond to one-off requests for P&E cost analysis, headcount reporting, and operational deep dives.
- Partner with other Finance BPs to align best practices, reporting formats, and business insight delivery.
- Support ongoing financial model enhancements and data integrations between systems.
About You
- 3-5 years of experience in FP&A or Finance Business Partnering, ideally supporting Product, Engineering, or Operations in a SaaS / technology environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
- Excellent Excel / Google Sheets and financial modelling abilities; SQL and Pigment / Tableau experience preferred.
- Proven ability to communicate complex financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Self-starter comfortable operating cross-functionally in a fast-moving, scaling environment.
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional certification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA) a plus.
