Job Introduction:

The Senior People Business Generalist provides broad and experienced support across the People function, partnering with People Business Partners, managers, and employees to deliver effective HR programs, processes, and employee support across the organization. This role plays a key part in executing people initiatives, managing employee relations matters, supporting policy administration, and ensuring consistent, compliant, and employee-centred HR operations. The Senior People Business Generalist acts as a trusted day-to-day partner to managers and employees, helps drive process improvements, and contributes to a positive employee experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The ideal candidate brings strong generalist HR expertise, sound judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage a broad range of people-related matters with professionalism and care.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with People Business Partners and People leadership to execute HR programs, policies, and processes that support business needs and employee experience

  • Provide day-to-day guidance to employees and managers on HR procedures, policies, benefits, and people practices, escalating complex or high-risk matters as appropriate

  • Support and independently manage employee relations matters of moderate complexity, including intake, documentation, issue resolution, and investigations in partnership with senior People leaders when needed

  • Coordinate and support onboarding, orientation, internal transitions, and offboarding activities to ensure smooth and consistent employee lifecycle experiences

  • Partner with Payroll, Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, People Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure effective execution of people processes and timely issue resolution

  • Maintain accurate employee records and help ensure compliance with data privacy requirements, labour laws, internal policies, and reporting obligations

  • Support managers with day-to-day HR needs including policy interpretation, employee questions, documentation support, and people process guidance

  • Contribute to HR communications, trainings, engagement initiatives, and culture-building efforts that strengthen employee understanding and organizational alignment

  • Prepare workforce reports, dashboards, and people data summaries while helping ensure data accuracy and useful insights for decision-making

  • Identify process gaps and inefficiencies and contribute to process improvement projects that increase consistency, compliance, scalability, and operational effectiveness

  • Serve as a reliable resource for employees and managers, helping resolve issues effectively while promoting a positive, inclusive, and high-performing work environment

  • Provide guidance and informal support to less experienced People team members where applicable

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with strong exposure to generalist, employee relations, or business partner support functions

  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR operations, compliance requirements, and employee lifecycle processes

  • Experience supporting managers and employees in a fast-paced, high-growth, or complex business environment

  • Experience with HRIS systems such as Workday, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to support employees and managers effectively and professionally

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and documentation capability

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment

  • Experience contributing to HR process improvements, reporting, training, or program implementation preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; equivalent experience may be considered
