APIs are at the heart of the infrastructure enabling inter-system communication of highly sensitive data. Attackers were the first to identify that APIs are a lucrative point of entry, as evident in the increased number of API security breaches with enterprises such as Equifax, Instagram, Snapchat, PayPal and many others.

The majority of API attacks target the heart of applications by manipulating the application logic itself. These attacks are easily missed by today's security measures, since the API calls may seem completely legitimate and benign. Therefore, modern attackers have an upper hand by flying undetected and under the radar.

This is a pivotal role for Salt Security, and we are looking for a high-energy individual who is passionate about solving a critical security need for our customers and delivering a top-notch customer experience. You are obsessed with ensuring that our customers derive maximum value from their investment with Salt. And you will not rest easy until your customers are successful. You are easy to work with, and working cross-functionally is second-nature to you. This is a hands-on role. Your cybersecurity/cloud infrastructure/orchestration knowledge and experience will help cement your credentials and allow you to do exceedingly well with our customers. If you are someone who likes to dive deep and be at the frontlines with customer management, you'll have a blast in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage your deep technical and product knowledge with the understanding of customer needs to educate and mature your customers’ use cases
  • Own customer relationships from customer users/operators to executive stakeholders
  • Manage a high-value book of business. Guide your customers post technical implementation and ensure they continue to accomplish progressively high value from Salt. Be customers’ trusted partner in securing their APIs
  • Skillfully explain network security, the API ecosystem, AppSec, WAFs, RASPs, or similar security products and concepts to customers of all backgrounds and experiences
  • Demonstrate and amplify the Salt value to the senior customer stakeholders
  • Articulate and train customers in Salt’s industry-leading best practices. Contribute to customer success knowledge and methodology
  • Bring an empathetic, listening-oriented, outside-in perspective to your engagement with customers
  • Become a trusted advisor for the customers, ensuring you proactively articulate and advocate for their collective voice and needs internally
  • Provide feedback and work with Product and R&D on issue and feature escalations and prioritization
  • As in any high-growth startup, contribute to growing and build the team and company. Advance our systems and processes. Build faster and easier ways of completing projects. Work together with us to advance our collective success

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in solution delivery, customer management/consulting, or technical account management, preferably in SaaS environments
  • Previous experience in managing enterprise-level customer relationships, including the senior level stakeholders
  • Technical background in network security, API ecosystem, AppSec, WAF, RASP, or similar security products
  • Understand HTTP protocol details, Postman, etc.
  • Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP, K8, Docker, or other containerization technologies
  • Plus points for certifications in any of the above
  • A proven track record of success in delivering exceptional customer experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional time management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent: preference for computer science, cybersecurity, or related degrees
