About the role

We’re looking for a Risk Manager to support our growing retail credit portfolio. You'll make data-driven decisions on risk-adjusted return requirements and lead preventive and reactive actions that impact portfolio credit performance and profitability in Argentina and within the second line of defence.
Up to shape what's next in finance? Let’s get in touch.
What you’ll be doing
- Overseeing retail credit risk exposure to ensure the portfolio remains within defined safety parameters
- Providing second-line oversight and challenge over first-line credit activities to maintain independent governance
- Ensuring compliance with BCRA requirements, specifically regarding debtor classification, arrears treatment, and provisioning
- Managing risk appetite through the precise calibration and continuous monitoring of credit limits
- Reviewing and challenging risk models in collaboration with the Risk Modelling team to ensure predictive accuracy
- Engaging with local regulators (BCRA) and internal committees on material credit exposures and regulatory reporting
- Quantifying risk exposures, assessing the impact of regulatory classifications and required financial provisioning
- Governing emerging risks and conducting risk assessments for new retail product launches
- Maintaining key policies and controls to standardize credit risk management across the local operation
- Protecting the company from excessive risk-taking to optimize long-term costs and maintain institutional reputation
What you'll need
- 4+ years of retail credit risk experience (not including wholesale/treasury experience)
- Knowledge of key products, like unsecured personal loans, credit cards, and BNPL
- A solid understanding of credit policy governance framework, and the ability to work through the three lines of defence in a competent manner
- Familiarity with retail credit risk regulations in Argentina (BCRA)
- Expertise in retail credit risk modelling (PD/ECL)
- The ability to translate regulatory requirements into practical risk guidance and challenge first-line decisions
- Great communication and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English
Nice to have
- A degree or certification in risk management
- Experience implementing third-party/vendor and model risk programmes
- Familiarity with data or MI tools (e.g., SQL or BI tools) for analysis and review purposes
- Experience supporting regulatory interactions, inspections, or audits related to credit risk
- Experience in business credit lending
