Join us as Head of KYCB Operations - Southern Europe and lead the scaling of our operations across Italy, Spain, and Portugal. You will partner closely with our Managing Director - Southern Europe, senior leaders and cross-functional teams to replicate our successful regional structure and ensure we balance operational efficiency with strict compliance and superior customer experience.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Head of KYCB Operations (Southern Europe) at Qonto, you will
• Lead and scale the KYCB operations for three key markets (Italy, Spain, Portugal), adapting our global standards to local regulatory requirements.
• Manage and develop a team of Team Leads as an experienced manager of managers, driving high performance and supporting their continued growth and effectiveness in role.
• Drive operational performance to achieve ambitious targets across conversion, compliance (initial & periodic due diligence), and customer satisfaction.
• Partner with the Managing Director to align operational execution with the strategic growth goals of the Southern European region.
• Oversee BPO relationships and external partners to handle volume fluctuations and support the scaling of the Italian market specifically.

• Market Context: You will be joining at a pivotal time to replicate the organizational structure we successfully built in France and Germany, with a specific focus on the growth of the Italian market.
• Methodologies: You will work in a fast-paced environment that relies heavily on Lean management principles, visual management, and continuous improvement.
• Tools: You will use banking back-office tools such as Forest admin, traditional ticketing tools like Zendesk, and Notion for project management.
• Team: You will be part of a transparent, thorough, and caring team that values problem-solving and operational excellence.
🤝 About your future Manager
Your manager will be Tannia Alexandra Rojas Quiroga, our Head of KYC/KYB.
• Her path? Tannia has had an impressive journey at Qonto. She joined us in 2019 as a Customer Success Officer and rapidly evolved through the ranks—from Team Lead to Head of Customer Success—before taking on her current role as Head of KYC/KYB. Prior to Qonto, she spent over four years at b2s in various roles, rising to Production Manager where she led large teams and optimized operational performance.
• What she can bring to the team? Tannia is a quality-driven leader who excels at transforming standard procedures into engines for constant improvement. With a strong background and deep expertise in operations and coaching, she is passionate about developing her team members and empowering them to grow. Her approach combines a strategic vision for scalability with a hands-on commitment to operational excellence.
🏅 About You
• Experience: You have at least ~10+ years of total professional experience, with a minimum of ~3 years of experience managing people managers (not just individual contributors).
• Industry Knowledge: You have a strong background in Fintech or Payments, with deep expertise in KYC, KYB, and AFC (Anti-Financial Crime) regulations.
• Operational Skills: You have experience managing BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) partners and have successfully managed larger teams or scaled operations in a high-growth environment.
• Mindset: You are a structured problem-solver who takes ownership of complex topics and can navigate regulatory frameworks beyond just reading the rules.
• Languages: You are fluent in English and Italian. Proficiency in Spanish or Portuguese is a strong plus.
