As Public Affairs Intern, you will be in charge of elaborating the public affairs strategy of Qonto in close relationship with the Risk & Compliance, Marketing & Comms teams, and Alexia, our VP Legal (all based in Paris headquarters). The starting date of this internship is to be decided, from late June to September.
👩💻🧑💻 As a Public Affairs Intern at Qonto, you will
• Monitor the political, legislative, and institutional agendas to anticipate risks & opportunities for Qonto’s interests at the European and national levels (watch political announcements, forthcoming policies, regulatory changes, etc.).
• Support mapping of relevant policy-makers and stakeholders in Qonto's ecosystem (government, opinion leaders, policy experts, etc.).
• Support in drafting position papers, external messages, and data-related documents educating policy-making on Qonto’s positive impact, and positively shaping the public policy environment.
• Assist and support our current Public Affairs Principal in the setting up, organization, and preparation of meetings and institutional events with policymakers.
• Increase Qonto’s visibility, influence, and impact through a well-rounded engagement in all Qonto countries and at the European Union level.
• Promote the role of public affairs internally, and be a partner to business growth by unlocking issues and accelerating projects.

Her path?
Prior to joining Qonto, she spent +5 years working at Boury Tallon & Associés, the biggest lobbying firm in France, with a strong focus on Finance, Tech, Food, and Healthcare clients. She also had previous experiences working at the Fondation de France (public relations) and at the French Defense Ministry (international relations).
On her arrival, she was tasked to kick-start the Public Affairs team from scratch with outreach in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and the EU level.
Her objective is to build a positive institutional reputation (governments, administrations, parliaments, local decision-makers, EU institutions, opinion leaders, etc.) and a secure positive policy environment for Qonto’s growth.

Jane has significant experience in matching business interests to the policy agenda, identifying policy opportunities, and building successful public affairs strategies to proactively participate in business growth.
Passionate about her job, she will support you in developing your skills, growing your network, and ensuring your integration within the team.
By working with her at Qonto, you will also work on strategic public affairs projects, locally and at the EU level.

🏅 About You
• Experience: You are looking for an end-of-study internship and already have previous professional internships in public affairs, government relations, or public policy, with a preference for an experience or are interested in the FinTech, banking, payments, e-commerce, or tech.
• Mastery: Strong understanding and practical experience of the French and European Union’s policymaking and legislative process – and Italy’s, Spain’s, and German’s is a plus. You are a self-starter, resourceful, creative, and social.
• Languages: Strong verbal and written communicator in both English and French. Any other European language is a plus.
• Skills: you are social, resourceful, curious and rigorous. You have strong analytical skills and a strong interest in policy-making.
• Organizational skills: you are organized and proactive. You know how to plan, report, and act.
• Communication skills: you are a very open-minded person and you're not afraid to engage with new people.
