Messy spend management is tricky business. And tedious processes are a lose-lose situation for all involved, not just finance. At Pleo, we're changing that. We build spend solutions that make managing money seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike—with a vision to help all businesses ‘go beyond’.

The word ‘Pleo’ actually means ‘more than you’d expect’, and living by that mantra has been the secret to our success over the last 10 years.

Now, we’re at a pivotal moment in our journey; every move we make has a direct impact on our 40,000+ customers, our business, and our collective success. We need people who take pride in uncovering customer needs, who turn complex problems into simple solutions, challenge the way things are done (respectfully), and always aim high. With great ambitions driving us forward, we can’t say we’ve got this whole thing figured out. And frankly, that’s half the fun! What we can say is that we’re a driven, progressive, and, importantly, a kind bunch of 850+ people from over 100 nationalities, all committed to delivering the future of business spending, together.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to lead Employee Spend - the team behind Cards, Reimbursements, Requests, Mileage, and Per Diem - and make Pleo the simplest way for every employee to spend responsibly with confidence and speed.

You’ll set a clear product vision and strategy across employee experiences, turning “controls” into guidance that feels effortless while keeping finance in control. From card controls and in‑flow policy nudges to receipt capture, reimbursement flows, and regional compliance, your work will reduce ambiguity for employees and operational drag for finance - so the right spend just happens.

This role sits at the intersection of company structure, financial access, and day‑to‑day execution. A growth mindset is essential, paired with sharp commercial judgment and a bias for measurable impact. You get to root causes fast, challenge assumptions with humility, and ship focused slices to maximise the impact of your team.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Product Manager for the Employee Spend team, you will:

  • Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for how to make the employee spend experience across Cards, Reimbursements, Mileage, Per Diem and Requests intuitive, empowering, and delightful.
  • Drive employee adoption and revenue impact by working closely with GTM and Pricing in making Pleo the obvious choice for all employees spending for the business.
  • Give finance confidence that no spend is outside of policy unless there is good reason and pre-approval for it.
  • Partner tightly with your engineering, design, data and research counterparts to find novel solutions and ensure seamless execution of product initiatives.
  • Leverage data and qualitative user research to deeply understand user needs and pain points related to managing users and controlling spend, translating these insights into innovative product solutions.
  • Identify market trends, competitive landscapes, and potential partnerships to inform long-term product strategy and future investment into the space.

What you bring

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Experience working within payments and building state of the art mobile experiences
  • Visionary and innovative with a proven track record of finding novel solutions to known problems to make sure we stay category defining.
  • A results-oriented growth mindset, comfortable with ambiguity and a relentless drive for measurable outcomes that see the need to collaborate across the org as an opportunity, not an obstacle.
  • Strong track record of leading high-performing cross-functional product teams through exceptional product management craft and leadership.
  • Exceptional at breaking down complex concepts, prioritising work and conveying a clear narrative to your team and stakeholders.
  • Deep customer empathy and proven experience conducting user research to translate insights into tangible product improvements.
  • Track record of partnering with commercial counterparts to drive growth and revenue impact.

Who you'll be working with and reporting to

You’ll report to a Senior Product Director and work closely with your Engineering Manager, designer and tech lead(s). Together with your EM and designer, you set the strategy, direction and priority for the team. You’ll also have the chance to partner with members from Data, Product Research, GTM and Partnerships to drive the success of your product.

How you'll develop in this role

In your first 3 months at Pleo, you’ll:

  • Lead iterations and scale Purchase Requests feature to help employees make the right spending decisions at pace without compromising on finance’s sense of control.
  • Discovery and design solutions for how to make the setup and usage of various spend use cases more intuitive and self-serve for Finance and employees alike.
  • Get to work with exceptional talent and quickly learn how to build a B2B product experience that is today recognised as industry leading.

We’re committed to helping you develop your career, whether that means taking on bigger projects or acquiring new skills in the product craft.
