At Pleo, we’re on a mission to revolutionise the way businesses manage company spending. No more outdated processes, clunky spreadsheets, or frustrating delays - we believe spend management should be seamless, empowering, and surprisingly effective for finance teams and employees alike. We’re creating tools that promote autonomy, foster trust, and let businesses focus on what truly matters.

Our culture is built on transparency, collaboration, and a deep commitment to innovation – which is reflected in our spending solution. At Pleo, you’ll join a passionate team shaping the future of work, all while having some fun along the way.

About the role

As a Data Product Manager in Data Platform, you’ll play a key role in shaping the way data is processed, modelled, consumed, and maintained across Pleo to generate business value, improve operations and help our customers. You'll own the product direction for data infrastructure, tooling and the Pleo data warehouse, key building blocks for enabling analytics and AI across Pleo. Working with a diverse set of stakeholders to understand their data needs, you'll translate competing priorities and ambiguous requirements in a complex problem space into a clear product direction for several Data platform teams.

The Data Platform Group

At Pleo, data is at the heart of decision-making, and the Data Platform group is responsible for making that possible. The Data Platform group owns the infrastructure, tooling and core data products that are key building blocks used by all other data teams across Pleo. Our mission is to deliver a high-quality self-service data platform where analytics teams across Pleo can access the right data in a way that works best for them.

What you’ll be doing

As a Data Product manager, you will:

  • Have ownership to set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for multiple Data Platform teams
  • Collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders, including data leads, analysts, analytics engineers, data engineers, and data scientists, to understand their needs and translate them into product features
  • Ensure our prioritization aligns with the long-term vision and strategy, and that you're striking the right balance between the long-term evolution of the platform and short-term business impact
  • Work closely with distributed data teams, and other internal teams (Product, Engineering, Design, Finance, Revenue Operations, Legal, Operations, People, ..) that Data Platform supports
  • Work closely with Data platform leads to translate the longer-term product strategy into specific deliverables and objectives for each Data platform team, and drive execution (roadmap planning, prioritization, running sprints)

What you bring

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • Have demonstrated experience leading product development focused on self-service data platforms.
  • Think of data as a product, as opposed to a service, and have helped organizations shift that mindset
  • Proven track record of making and validating impact hypotheses, and translating internal tools and data projects into tangible value for the business
  • Are comfortable owning the product strategy for several data engineering teams.
  • Worked with data-focused, product-engineering teams, using Agile principles.
  • Have a good understanding of core data and analytics concepts (data warehouses, data lakes, ETL, business intelligence, etc.)
  • Have experience leading discovery for self-service data platforms, gathering user requirements, understanding pain points and translating them into user stories.

Who you’ll be working with and reporting to

You’ll report to our Head of Data Platform and work across all Data Platform teams, and partner closely with all other Data & Analytics competence teams.

How you’ll develop in this role
In your first 6 months at Pleo, you’ll:

  • Work closely with the Head of Data Platform to define the Data Platform strategy
  • Collaborate with the Data infrastructure team to improve the governance and reliability of our data platform.
  • Work with the Data Services team lead to set the product strategy for our data warehouse

Why join us?

Working at Pleo means you're working on something very exciting: the future of work. Our mission is to help every company go beyond the books. Pleo itself means ‘more than you’d expect’, and it’s been the secret to our success over the last 8 years. So it’s only fitting that we’d pass this philosophy onto our customers to help them make the most of their finances.

We think company spending should be delegated to all employees and teams, that it should be as automated as possible, and that it should drive a culture of responsible spending. Finance teams shouldn’t be siloed from the rest of the organisation – they should work in unity with marketing, sales, IT and everyone else.

Speaking of working in unity, our values tell the story of how we work at Pleo. We have four core values, the first of which is ‘champion the customer’, which means we address real pain points that businesses face. Next up is ‘succeed as a team’, which highlights how our strength lies in our diversity and trust in each other. We also ‘make it happen’ by taking bold decisions and following through to deliver results. Last but not least, we ‘build to scale’, creating lasting solutions that address today’s challenges and anticipate tomorrow’s needs.

So, in a nutshell, that's Pleo. Today we are a 850+ team, from over 100 nations, sitting in our Copenhagen HQ, London, Stockholm, Berlin, Madrid, Montreal and Lisbon offices —and quite a few full-time remotes in 35 other countries! Being HQ'd out of Copenhagen means we're inspired by things like a good work-life balance. If you don't work in the office with us, we'll help you set up the best remote setup possible and make sure you still have time to connect with your team.
