We are looking for a talented Software Development Engineers to join our growing team.

In this role, you will have a significant impact on the business by ensuring that your expertise translates into optimized cross-departmental activities.

You will be building the core components that enable new services and connect existing ones. You will be working closely with architects and infrastructure developers to design and implement complex UI applications, integrate different APIs, and work with top-level UX specialists. You will use AI-assisted development tools as a core part of your daily workflow.

You will:

• Design and develop frontend applications and user experiences that power Papaya’s products and internal tools.
• Design and develop backend services and APIs that integrate Papaya with third-party providers.
• Build and maintain the tools and infrastructure that power Papaya’s platform, spanning UI and backend integrations.
• Use AI-assisted development tools and practices (Claude Code, Skills, AI coding agents) to accelerate development, testing, and code review.
• Ensure high quality of full stack code, including rigorous automated testing and code reviews.
• Take an active role in code reviews and pull requests — get your own code reviewed by the team and become a better developer overall.
• Work with architects, UX specialists, and other R&D teams to understand requirements and define implementation strategies.
• Keep up to date on the latest techniques in development, testing, and AI-assisted engineering.
• Learn new things and enrich other team members.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in full stack development, with stronger emphasis on frontend (≈60% frontend / 40% backend).
• Strong experience building React applications in TypeScript.
• Experience with micro-frontends, preferably Webpack Module Federation.
• Experience with modern frontend tooling and patterns, including Webpack, React Router, React Query, and Redux.
• Familiarity with styled-components and component/design systems.
• Experience developing backend services and RESTful APIs in Java (Spring Boot preferred).
• Experience integrating with third-party providers and APIs.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and practices.
• Experience in microservice-oriented architecture.
• Experience in Agile development, including continuous integration, continuous deployment, and coding for automated testing.
• Experience in core database systems (SQL, NoSQL, Redis, etc.).
• Experience deploying and maintaining services in an AWS environment.
