Description

AI Learning & Enablement Director | TPIL Learning & Enablement

Salesforce is looking for a seasoned people leader to serve as AI Learning & Enablement Director within the TPIL Learning & Enablement team. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for setting the strategic direction of AI adoption, enablement, and learning across Salesforce's engineering organization — and building the team and programs that bring that strategy to life.

You'll lead a team of Learning Program Managers and work cross-functionally to ensure Salesforce's technical workforce is equipped to navigate and embrace AI-powered ways of working. You'll be as comfortable in an executive steering conversation as you are reviewing a learning curriculum — and you'll know how to translate organizational priorities into learning programs that stick.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and own the AI Adoption, Enablement, and Learning strategy for Salesforce's technical workforce, aligning with broader company and TPIL priorities

  • Serve as the team's senior voice in cross-functional discussions with Engineering, Product, and HR leadership on AI readiness and workforce transformation

  • Translate business goals and AI adoption metrics into actionable learning roadmaps, ensuring programs are measurable, scalable, and timely

  • Identify emerging trends in AI and learning technology to continuously evolve the team's approach and offerings

People Management

  • Directly manage and develop a team of Learning Program Managers, setting clear goals, providing regular coaching, and fostering a high-performance culture

  • Build a team environment that prioritizes collaboration, psychological safety, and continuous learning

  • Attract, develop, and retain top talent — creating growth paths for team members and building bench strength for the future

  • Champion the work of the team internally and advocate for the resources needed to scale impact

Program Oversight & Delivery

  • Provide strategic oversight of all AI-focused learning programs — from design through delivery and iteration

  • Partner with Program Managers to set program priorities, remove blockers, and ensure high-quality execution

  • Establish consistent frameworks, standards, and best practices for how the team designs and delivers AI enablement

  • Drive adoption and engagement metrics across programs, using data to inform decisions and demonstrate impact to stakeholders

Building an AI-Native Team

  • Partner closely with senior Individual Contributors (ICs) within the TPIL team to co-create an AI-native working culture — one that is highly effective and efficient through the deliberate and creative use of AI tools

  • Champion the adoption of AI-powered tools and workflows within the team itself, modelling the behaviours you're enabling across the broader organisation

  • Drive the team to continuously experiment with and embed AI tools into everyday work — from program design and content creation to stakeholder communication and impact reporting

Stakeholder & Executive Engagement

  • Engage regularly with senior engineering and product leaders to understand evolving AI adoption needs and align the team's work accordingly

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across Salesforce to ensure enablement efforts are embedded in the flow of work — not just point-in-time events

  • Represent TPIL Learning & Enablement at the leadership level in planning cycles, OKR setting, and organizational reviews

What You'll Bring

Leadership & Management

  • Proven track record as a people manager, with experience leading a team of program managers or similar roles in a learning, enablement, or organizational effectiveness function

  • Demonstrated ability to build and develop high-performing teams — you know how to hire well, coach deeply, and create cultures where people do their best work

  • Experience managing through ambiguity in fast-moving, technology-forward organizations

Strategic Thinking & Execution

  • Strong ability to connect organizational strategy to learning design — you don't just build programs, you build programs that move the needle

  • Experience owning and driving learning or enablement strategy at scale, ideally across a technical or engineering workforce

  • Comfortable setting OKRs, tracking outcomes, and reporting on impact at a senior level

AI, Engineering & Enablement Expertise

  • Deep familiarity with AI/ML concepts and the rapidly evolving landscape of AI tools, including LLMs, Agentforce, and AI-powered developer and productivity tooling

  • Strong working knowledge of AI-powered coding and productivity tools — including Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, and similar tools — and actively uses them in day-to-day work to stay productive and model AI-native ways of working

  • Strong understanding of engineering and product development lifecycles — you speak the language of developers, architects, and product managers, and can design enablement that fits into how they actually work

  • Experience designing or overseeing a broad range of enablement activities — not just formal learning programs, but also hands-on labs, hackathons, communities of practice, tooling guides, technical documentation, change management, and in-the-flow-of-work enablement

  • Fluent in AI adoption, digital transformation, and technology change management — you understand the human and technical dimensions of getting engineers and PMs to embrace new ways of working

  • Deep understanding of adult learning principles and modern learning design; equally comfortable with informal and social learning approaches

  • Familiarity with Salesforce platform, products, and engineering culture is a strong advantage

Communication & Influence

  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills — you can inspire a room, write a compelling exec brief, and give actionable feedback on a learning deck all in the same day

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence without authority across a matrixed organization

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible, and motivating narratives for diverse audiences

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, or a related technical or business field

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or equivalent) is a plus — but not required if you have the experience and track record to back it up

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, product management, technical program management, or a closely related field — with a clear passion for enabling others and building capability

  • 4–5 years in a senior people management role, leading high-performing technical or cross-functional teams

  • Track record of driving complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives at scale — you know how to get things done in a large, fast-moving organization

  • Experience working within or alongside large engineering or product organizations (10,000+ employees preferred)

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in learning, enablement, change management, or organizational effectiveness — whether through a dedicated role, a passion project, or a major initiative you've led

  • Prior experience in a Director-level or equivalent leadership role is strongly preferred

Technical & AI Skills

  • Hands-on, working proficiency with AI-powered tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, or similar developer-focused AI tools — and you use them regularly, not just occasionally

  • Practical experience using Generative AI (including LLMs) to enhance personal productivity and team workflows

  • Familiarity with Salesforce products, platform, and the Agentforce ecosystem is a strong advantage

  • Comfortable using data and analytics to measure and communicate impact — whether through dashboards, survey tools, or product analytics

Certifications (Preferred, Not Required)

  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Administrator, Platform App Builder, AI Associate) are a plus

  • Agile or program management certifications (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, SAFe) are valued

  • Any credentials in coaching, facilitation, or change management are a bonus — but enthusiasm for enabling people matters far more than formal credentials here
