Description
About the Role
As a Principal Nonprofit Enteprise Architect on the Solution Engineering team, you'll be a trusted advisor and strategic partner for our most important nonprofit customers. You lead with business acumen first — using technology as the vehicle, not the destination. You don't just design solutions; you help nonprofit leaders rethink what's possible.
What You'll Do
- Own complex technical engagements — lead discovery, architecture design, and solution storytelling for nonprofit accounts
- Design scalable solutions using Salesforce's nonprofit product suite (NPSP/Agentforce Nonprofit, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, MuleSoft, Data Cloud, Agentforce, and more)
- Serve as a thought leader — develop repeatable architectures, demo assets, and best practice guidance for the broader SE community
- Partner cross-functionally with Account Executives, Customer Success, Product, and Professional Services to drive deals and deliver value
- Mentor and develop junior architects and SEs, elevating the technical capabilities of the team
- Engage the nonprofit ecosystem — speak at events like Dreamforce, present at nonprofit conferences, and represent Salesforce as a subject matter expert
What You Bring
- Business-first mindset — you lead with outcomes, not technology. You understand nonprofit business models, funding structures, and organizational priorities, and you use that context to frame technical solutions around mission impact and ROI
- A track record of influencing executive decisions, not just supporting technical evaluations — you're equally comfortable in a boardroom as you are in a whiteboard session
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise software, with 5+ years focused on Salesforce platform architecture
- Deep knowledge of nonprofit business processes — fundraising, program management, marketing engagement, grant management, and constituent relationships
- Hands-on experience with NPSP or NPC (Nonprofit Cloud), and familiarity with the broader Salesforce platform
- Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder technical evaluations
- Strong communication skills — equally compelling with a nonprofit CTO and an executive director
- Salesforce certifications (e.g., Application Architect, System Architect, or Nonprofit Cloud Consultant) strongly preferred
- Ability to travel up to 50%
Why This Role
You'll work at the intersection of technology and social impact — helping nonprofits that are tackling some of the world's most important challenges. As a principal-level contributor, you'll shape the strategy, culture, and technical direction of our team while building relationships with the most innovative mission-driven organizations in the sector.
