Salesforce Australia is establishing a first-of-its-kind Account Executive, Commerce Cloud, Public Sector to champion the modernisation of public sector revenue infrastructure across Government and Higher Education.

This is not a traditional B2C commerce sales role. It is a strategic, category-defining opportunity focused on transforming how public institutions manage registrations, licensing, permits, memberships, micro-credentials, compliance-driven payments, and institutional revenue streams.

From council registrations and permit fees to university short courses and professional accreditation programs, this role sits at the intersection of commerce technology, digital payments, and public policy. You will help institutions design secure, scalable, and citizen- or student-centric commerce experiences powered by a unified platform.

As a trusted advisor, you will partner with Federal, State, Territory and Local Government agencies, statutory bodies, and Higher Education organisations to architect solutions leveraging Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Payments, Order Management and Revenue capabilities — all built on the world’s #1 CRM platform.

You will guide complex procurement cycles, align modern revenue management models with compliance and transparency requirements, and help institutions deliver frictionless, trusted digital services at scale.

About the Role

Grow Net New Commerce Cloud Opportunities

  • Identify, qualify, and develop net new Commerce Cloud opportunities across federal, state, territory, local government, statutory bodies, and Higher Education institutions.

  • Work alongside core Public Sector Account Executives to embed Commerce Cloud and Payments into broader platform transformation deals.

  • Shape account strategies that position unified payments, order management, and revenue infrastructure as strategic enablers of institutional digital transformation.

Team Selling & Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Public Sector Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Industry Specialists, Customer Success, and strategic partners to co-create integrated, outcome-driven solutions.

  • Leverage team-based selling to influence multiple stakeholders, navigate complex procurement cycles, and win consensus across IT, Finance, Digital, and Executive teams.

  • Contribute to the growth of the overall Public Sector business by ensuring Commerce Cloud is positioned as a core component of Salesforce’s enterprise solutions.

Lead Strategic Commerce & Payments Conversations

  • Articulate the value of unified commerce and payment platforms, demonstrating how a single, secure architecture reduces complexity, improves compliance, enhances transparency, and delivers better citizen- and student-centric experiences.

  • Build compelling, policy-aligned business cases and influence internal and external stakeholders — winning hearts and minds across complex institutional environments.

  • Translate Commerce Cloud capabilities into measurable outcomes such as improved revenue flows, streamlined administration, enhanced reporting, and repeatable transformation processes.

Navigate Complex Public Sector Environments

  • Manage sophisticated, multi-stakeholder sales cycles across government procurement frameworks and Higher Education governance structures.

  • Align solutions with security, privacy, compliance, and policy requirements, ensuring institutional needs and risks are addressed.

  • Represent Salesforce Commerce Cloud at public sector and higher education events, forums, and stakeholder engagements to strengthen market presence.
