We're bridging the gap between Slack and Salesforce to create seamless workflows that empower sales teams and customer success professionals. Our SlackCRM and Slackforce initiatives are tackling significant challenges like bringing CRM functionality directly into Slack, automating record management, and reducing context switching for revenue teams—all while building consumer-grade experiences within users' existing workflows. Join us in shaping the future of work for Salesforce customers!

About the Role

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team within our growing SlackCRM and Slackforce organization. In this role, you'll be responsible for driving a technical vision and strategy that brings Salesforce CRM capabilities directly into Slack, ensuring these integrations are reliable, efficient, scalable, and ultimately powerful for both SMB and Enterprise customers. You will blend creative product thinking with strong technical leadership to identify opportunities and guide your team in building innovative solutions that solve real user problems. A successful candidate will be an experienced engineering leader with a proven track record of leading effective engineering teams across frontend, backend, and full-stack development.

SlackCRM and Slackforce, part of Slack's Product Development and Engineering organization, are in the business of meeting the needs of revenue teams by bringing Salesforce directly into Slack. Our work spans multiple areas:

  • Creating, viewing, editing, and searching Salesforce records directly from Slack
  • Automatically capturing Slack conversations and activities as Salesforce records
  • Enabling conversational interactions with Salesforce data through Slackbot and AI-powered experiences

Specifically, you will lead an interdisciplinary team of frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers responsible for the development and delivery of SlackCRM capabilities that serve both SMB and Enterprise customer segments. Your objective as an engineering manager will be to ensure reliability and scalability of these services as our user base continues to rapidly expand, while also facilitating the development of platform capabilities that make developing Salesforce integrations more seamless for our customers.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Product, Design, Salesforce platform teams, and other technical leaders to define and execute on the team's roadmap, including team growth
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of frontend, backend, and full-stack engineers to foster their technical growth and leadership potential
  • Develop a deep understanding of both the Salesforce ecosystem and Slack platform to inform engineering possibilities and drive creative technical solutions
  • Partner closely with Salesforce product and engineering teams to ensure tight integration and alignment with platform capabilities
  • Own and drive the successful execution of projects that deliver value to both SMB and Enterprise customer segments
  • Partner effectively with other engineering leaders across Slack and Salesforce organizations to solve high-priority challenges collaboratively
  • Champion adoption stewardship practices, ensuring your team monitors and responds to customer feedback across relevant channels
  • Drive technical excellence in areas including real-time data sync, bulk operations, record management, and AI interfaces

What you should have

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • 4+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager leading software development teams
  • Proven experience managing frontend, backend, and/or full-stack engineering teams

  • A passion for understanding technical landscapes and translating that knowledge into product possibilities in collaboration with Product and Design
  • A strong problem-solving mindset with a track record of finding creative solutions to complex challenges
  • The ability to navigate multiple and sometimes conflicting constraints to make timely decisions and anticipate future technical needs
