Role Overview: We're looking for a talented Lead Member of Technical Staff (LMTS) with deep expertise in Salesforce Platform and Agentforce development to drive technical excellence and innovation across DEX initiatives. This is a high-impact role where you'll architect intelligent, agentic solutions, mentor engineers, and deliver transformative experiences that directly support Salesforce's internal operations and strategic AI priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership & Architecture
Design, architect, and deliver complex solutions on Salesforce Platform (Core, Experience Cloud, Service Cloud) and Agentforce
Slack development and integration - Build custom Slack applications, implement Slack-Salesforce integrations, and develop workflow automations using Slack APIs and platform tools
Lead technical design reviews and drive architectural decisions that ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability
Define and champion coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across teams
Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with industry best practices
Deep understanding of systems architecture, key design patterns, and ability to design scalable, AI-powered, performance-driven solutions
Design, architect, and deliver complex solutions on Salesforce Platform and AgentForce
Lead technical design reviews and drive architectural decisions that ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability
Define and champion coding standards, design patterns, and engineering best practices across teams
Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions aligned with industry best practices
Quality Delivery & Execution
Develop high-quality, production-ready code using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Agentforce APIs, and other Salesforce technologies
Design and implement custom objects, fields, workflows, approval processes, validation rules, Lightning components, Experience Cloud sites, and intelligent agents
Build and configure Agentforce agents with custom actions, agent scripts, and integrations
Lead code reviews during projects to ensure quality and appropriate design patterns are followed
Own end-to-end delivery of critical features and epics, from design through deployment and monitoring
Develop high-quality, production-ready code using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and other Salesforce technologies

Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Salesforce Platform and Agentforce development within DEX
Drive adoption of new AI and automation technologies (Agentforce, Data Cloud, Einstein, prompt engineering, LLM integration)
Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and business stakeholders to shape product strategy
Lead proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives leveraging AI and automation to drive business value
Champion engineering excellence through automation, CI/CD, DevOps practices, and observability
Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Salesforce development within DEX
Drive adoption of new technologies and frameworks (AI/Agentforce, Data Cloud, automation tools, etc.)
Collaborate with Product Management, UX, and business stakeholders to shape product strategy
Lead proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives to drive business value

Team Development & Mentorship
Mentor and coach engineers at all levels, providing guidance on technical design, coding practices, and career development

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work with geographically distributed engineers, business analysts, and product owners for product delivery
Partner with stakeholders across DEX, IT, and business teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions
Coordinate the evaluation, scope, and completion of development requests
Assess the impact of new requirements on Salesforce orgs and all upstream/downstream applications

Required Qualifications
10+ years of professional software development experience with strong Salesforce platform expertise
Proficiency in software development with at least one programming language (Java, Node.js, Python) and solid understanding of data structures and system design

Expert-level knowledge of Salesforce development:
Advanced Apex programming (design patterns, trigger frameworks, SOLID principles)
Lightning Web Components (LWC) and Aura framework
Salesforce APIs (REST, SOAP, Bulk, Metadata, Tooling)
Experience Cloud / Communities development
Declarative automation (Flows, Process Builder, validation rules)

Deep understanding of:
Complex data models and relational database concepts
Integration patterns and web services (REST/SOAP)
Asynchronous processing (Batch Apex, Queueable, Platform Events, Change Data Capture)
Platform security (sharing model, field-level security, profiles, permission sets)

Environment management, release management, and deployment methodologies (CI/CD, DevOps)
Source control and version management (Git, SFDX, Copado, Gearset)
Test automation frameworks and test-driven development (TDD)

Leading technical design for complex, multi-team initiatives
Mentoring and developing engineering talent
Making informed technical decisions under constraints
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and collaborate across all levels
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI/Agentforce development and integration
Knowledge of Data Cloud and large-scale data processing
Familiarity with Heroku, MuleSoft, or other Salesforce platform products
Experience with modern development tools (Cursor, VS Code, GitHub Copilot, Code Analyzer)
Understanding of OmniStudio (FlexCards, OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures)
Knowledge of analytics (CRM Analytics, Einstein Analytics, Tableau)
Experience working on DEX/internal IT systems or similar enterprise-scale implementations
Contributions to open source or Salesforce community
Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I/II, Application Architect, System Architect)
