What we expect
The position is a full-time on-site role based in our Brisbane, CA office.
Someone who is knowledgeable in software, hardware, and networks within a Linux OS. They must be critical thinkers and problem-solvers with great attention to detail. Since end-user support and teamwork are important aspects of the role, excellent communication and people skills are required. Additionally, they support company Linux networks and optimize their performance.
Responsibilities
- Provide internal IT desktop support in a Ubuntu Linux environment
- Shell scripting changes to a base Linux image to create or adjust it as needed
- System administration of Ubuntu
- Testing and troubleshooting Linux Workstations
- Automate deployment of Linux laptops
- Installation and upgrades of workstations (Desktop, printers, network cards, etc.)
- Act as the technical contact for our network service provider and aid them in troubleshooting issues
Must Have
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Proficiency in Linux administration at an advanced or system administrator level, particularly in Ubuntu Linux environments
- Familiarity with scripting or basic knowledge of at least one systems programming language (such as Bash, Python, or Perl)
- Solid knowledge of Linux IT systems, applications, and hardware
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair issues
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and coordination abilities
- Broad understanding of network issues and able to troubleshoot them with our network service provider
- Proficiency with Foreman or experience in bare-metal provisioning using PXE, including familiarity with preseed, auto install, and Kickstart methods for automated system deployments.
- Ability to create and manage technical documentation

- 1-3 years of professional experience
- Experience/knowledge with SaaS/Cloud based applications
- Sociable and outgoing

The estimated annual compensation range for this role is $80,000-$120,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
