Your impact
Mollie is evolving from a payment processor into a full financial services provider, and our infrastructure needs to be as ambitious as our vision. As Engineering Manager for our Edge & Network team in the Platform Engineering domain, you will lead the team responsible for the very entry point of our ecosystem. You’ll own the global traffic management, security, and connectivity that ensure our services are fast, reliable, and secure for hundreds of thousands of merchants.

This isn't just about keeping the lights on; it’s about architecting a world-class platform that enables our product teams to ship with confidence. You’ll drive the technical roadmap for our edge services and service mesh, balancing high-performance engineering with a people-first leadership style. We’re looking for a leader who can mentor a high-performing team, bridge the gap between complex infrastructure and business value, and help us scale our network architecture to meet the next decade of growth.

What you'll ship

• Build and scale a high-performance Edge and Network platform that supports Mollie’s transition to a multi-service financial ecosystem.

• Drive the evolution of our Service Mesh and global traffic routing to ensure 99.99% availability and seamless connectivity.

• Deliver a developer-centric internal platform that allows engineering teams to manage their own network requirements with zero friction.

• Lead and mentor a team of specialized engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous delivery.

• Optimize our edge security and WAF strategies to stay ahead of evolving threats while maintaining peak performance.
  

What you'll bring

• Proven experience leading and scaling infrastructure or platform engineering teams in high-growth environments.

• Deep technical expertise in modern networking, including Service Mesh, Load Balancing, and Edge computing.

• A strong track record of managing distributed systems on public cloud providers, specifically GCP.

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and a "platform-as-a-product" mindset to empower other developers.

• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex network architecture into clear business outcomes.
