As a Software Engineer in our Tech Hub in Lisbon, you will be contributing to our mission by delivering an outstanding Merchant Experience, that follows the best Security Standards, as well as ensuring that our APIs are scalable and performant at all times.

You will be a key contributor in allowing Mollie to launch its next set of Payments and Financial Products.

What you'll be doing:

• Tackle scalability challenges, optimising latency (to no more than few ms) for critical API endpoints).

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, especially Security

• Ensure intrinsically secure and top-notch user journeys.

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems that support Mollie's internal teams.

What you'll bring:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in developing large-scale web applications.

• Experience in Object-Oriented Programming - we are using PHP but we welcome engineers using other languages

• Knowledge of modern queuing and caching systems like RabbitMQ and Redis

• Great communication skills and a proven past of working effectively with different stakeholders

Nice to have:

• You participated in the design of large-scale systems, handling performance, scalability and latency

• A background working with Google Cloud Platform and/or working as a DevOps engineer
