Job Description

About the Role

Hinge Health is a company that recognizes the value of design – as a Product Designer, you’ll join a tight-knit, collaborative team of designers who care deeply about creating cohesive and intuitive product experiences. Our team is at the center of solving impactful problems for millions of members who are managing their joint and muscle health, and making a meaningful difference in their lives.

In this role, you’ll help define and build the foundational patterns and experience that enables multiple health programs to work seamlessly together across the member lifecycle. As a Product designer, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to create intuitive, user-centered solutions from concept to execution, including user research, interaction/UI design, and prototypes that evolve our member experience forward, while driving towards our key business goals.

We’re looking for designers that excel in the ability to simplify complex challenges into impactful user experiences, care deeply about the quality of their work, have a strong track-record of shipping impactful experiences, come with a growth mindset, and bring a genuine desire to learn about our members.

This is a high-impact role, at an especially exciting time in Hinge Health’s journey. Our business is thriving, our member base continues to grow, and the impact of this role can directly power our company to grow.

What You'll Accomplish

  • Create a seamless and intuitive experience for members to work on multiple conditions in parallel, make intuitive adjustments to their programs, and have clear visibility into the progress.

  • Map complex workflows: Simplify and orchestrate interconnected onboarding, program management, and care experiences, ensuring customers feel confident and supported along the way.

  • Design a smooth migration experience to help members transition from legacy products to new platforms with thoughtful touchpoints and clear communications.

  • Work with other teams to understand and support the discoverability and integration of new programs into the existing platform, and ensure consistency and simplicity.

  • Design at scale: Use and contribute to our design system to build scalable components and patterns that support consistency and efficiency.

  • Champion quality and accessibility: Ensure that every onboarding touchpoint is accessible, inclusive, and thoughtfully crafted for diverse user needs

Basic Qualifications

  • A polished and updated portfolio showing shipped or in-progress product work, with foundational skills in interaction design and visual design.
  • 3+ years of product design experience, including partnering with product and engineering teams.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interaction, Industrial, Product, Service design, Human-computer interaction, or equivalent experience.

  • Experience contributing to end-to-end product design on native mobile platforms—from understanding the opportunity to supporting concept development and shipment; tablet familiarity is a plus.

  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, basic user research, and design documentation, with guidance from more senior designers.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience partnering with cross-functional teammates such as product managers and engineers.

  • Ability to learn new programs quickly and understand their nuances, with an emerging ability to think systematically about how different experiences connect and diverge.

  • Experience creating and documenting user flows, journeys, and/or simple service maps to support design decisions.

  • Iterative mindset: Ability to incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into designs and clearly explain design decisions.

  • Growing comfort with metrics: Experience using qualitative or quantitative signals to understand outcomes and improve designs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience participating in and helping facilitate workshops with cross-functional or cross-pillar teams to gather requirements, align on direction, or brainstorm concepts and ideas, with support from more senior partners.

  • Exposure to designing complex systems that span multiple product lines or features, with guidance and clear direction.

  • AI curiosity: Actively explores emerging tools, including generative AI, to improve workflows, spark creativity, or inform product ideas.

  • Design innovation mindset: Excited to bring fresh, thoughtful ideas to the table and draw inspiration from unexpected sources.

The salary range for this role is between: 132,000 - 170,000 per year. SF based
