Job Description

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced product leader to head our Growth Product function and drive the next wave of Hinge Health’s expansion. As Head of Growth Product (equivalent to a Group Product Manager), you will manage a team of Product Managers and own a broad portfolio that spans both member-facing features and internal growth platforms. Uniquely, this role balances work on user-facing growth initiatives (think ** conversion optimization, referral programs**) with the development of internal tools (think marketing automation systems, operational efficiency tools) that create member growth and empower our Growth Marketing teams. You will set the product vision and strategy for growth, fueled by data-driven experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration across Marketing, Clinical, Engineering, and more. This is a high-impact role for a low-ego, strategically minded builder who can align teams around a common goal: accelerating our member growth while improving operational efficiency.

What You’ll Accomplish

  • Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team: Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of Product Managers focused on growth. Foster a metrics-driven, collaborative culture where PMs and their cross-functional squads (Design, Engineering, Data, etc.) are empowered to do their best work.
  • Own the Growth Product Strategy: Define and execute a comprehensive product growth roadmap that covers the entire member funnel – from top-of-funnel acquisition, through conversion, referrals, and lifecycle marketing. Set ambitious goals aligned with company objectives and communicate strategy and updates to executive leadership.
  • Drive Data-Driven Growth Initiatives: Leverage data and user insights to identify opportunities and optimize every stage of the funnel. Design and run rapid A/B tests and experiments to improve key metrics (e.g. sign-up conversion rates, activation %, referral volume, engagement) and iterate quickly based on what you learn.
  • Enhance Internal Growth Platforms: Oversee the development of internal tools and platforms that turbocharge our growth efforts. This includes improving our marketing technology stack (e.g. CRM, email/SMS notification systems, referral tracking) and building operational tools or dashboards that streamline workflows for Growth Marketing. By enabling these teams with better product solutions, you’ll help increase internal efficiency and scalability.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with partners across the organization – from Growth Marketing and Sales, to Clinical Ops and Customer Success, to Data Science, Design, and Engineering – to align growth product initiatives with broader business efforts. You’ll be the connective tissue ensuring that product, marketing, and clinical strategies are coordinated and mutually reinforcing.
  • Experimentation and Innovation: Champion a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement. Encourage the team to hypothesize, test, and implement innovative ideas for acquiring and engaging users, as well as for improving internal processes. You’ll also keep an eye on industry trends and emerging growth tactics, ensuring Hinge Health stays on the cutting edge of product-led growth.
  • Measure and Communicate Impact: Own the key growth metrics and report on performance regularly. Monitor member acquisition funnel metrics and internal efficiency metrics, flagging trends and drilling into data to uncover insights. Clearly communicate wins, learnings, and plans to stakeholders at all levels, celebrating successes and transparently addressing challenges.
  • Scale What Works: When experiments show positive results – whether a new referral feature that boosts invites or an internal tool that saves the clinical team hours of work – develop a plan to scale and systematize those wins. Ensure that successful initiatives are rolled out broadly and contribute to sustained, long-term growth.Hinge Health Hybrid Model

We believe that remote work and in-person work have their own advantages and disadvantages, and we want to be able to leverage the best of both worlds. Employees in hybrid roles are required to be in the office 3 days per week, for the full 8 hours of a typical business day. The San Francisco office has a dog-friendly workplace program.

Basic Qualifications

  • Product Leadership & Experience: 9+ years of product management experience, including significant growth product ownership. You have 3+ years of people management experience, having directly managed Product Managers and led product teams to successful outcomes.
  • Growth Mindset & Track Record: Proven track record of driving user growth through product improvements and experiments. You can point to specific wins you’ve led – for example, lifting conversion rates, improving onboarding completion, driving up engagement or referrals – and explain how you did it.
  • Analytical & Data-Driven: Deep fluency with product analytics, A/B testing, and experimentation frameworks. You base decisions on data and user research, and you know how to instrument, analyze, and derive insights from funnel metrics. SQL or strong familiarity with analytics tools is a plus.
  • User-Focused & Innovative: You pair a strong customer empathy with creative product thinking. You constantly consider the end-user experience and are able to generate ideas that delight users while moving the needle on growth. You’re not afraid to think outside the box to find new ways to acquire and engage members.
  • Breadth (User & Internal Products): Experience working on both user-facing products and internal tools/platforms. Perhaps you’ve optimized customer-facing flows (onboarding, checkout, etc.) and also built or improved internal systems (MarTech, CRM, Ops tooling). You understand how front-end user experiences and back-end systems jointly drive growth.
  • Excellent Communication & Collaboration: You’re a skilled communicator who can translate complex data or strategy into clear, compelling narratives for different audiences. You excel at collaborating with non-technical teams (marketing, operations, clinical) and can influence and align cross-functional stakeholders, including executives.
  • People & Team Development: Passion for developing talent and building strong teams. You are a coach and mentor who can elevate your PMs through feedback, guidance, and empowerment. You’ve built a team culture of trust, learning, and high performance.
  • Low Ego & High Ownership: You’re humble, low-ego, and mission-driven. You care more about achieving team and company success than personal credit. You readily roll up your sleeves to help your team and you take accountability for outcomes.
  • Intellectual Curiosity: A lifelong learner who eagerly dives into understanding our users, our product, and the nuances of the healthcare industry. You ask questions, seek feedback, and constantly look for ways to improve our products and yourself.
  • Bias for Action: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, hyper-growth environment. You’re comfortable with ambiguity and can make sound decisions with imperfect information. You move quickly when needed, iterate, and always keep the ball moving forward.
  • Mission Alignment: A passion for our mission to help people live healthier, pain-free lives. (Industry experience in healthcare or digital health is a nice-to-have but not required.) What matters most is that you are excited to make a real difference in people’s health through technology and innovation.
