Senior Product Marketing Manager - Feature Management & Experimentation
Harness
Position Summary
Harness is redefining how companies deliver and release software with speed, safety, and confidence. As a Senior Product Marketing Manager (PMM), you will own the go-to-market story for Harness Feature Management and Experimentation — our feature flagging and experimentation solution (built on the acquisition of Split.io).
This is a high-impact role at the intersection of product, sales, and marketing. You’ll shape how the industry thinks about feature flags and experimentation in the modern DevOps era, directly competing with incumbents like LaunchDarkly, Statsig, and even the custom configuration files that large enterprises maintain. Whether you’ve built GTM at a feature flagging pioneer or you’ve been a solutions engineer ready to step into strategy (and escape constant travel), this is your chance to define the category and make your mark.
Think of this role as the mini-CMO for your module. You’ll drive messaging, competitive positioning, sales enablement, customer storytelling, and analyst engagement while also influencing the roadmap with win/loss insights and customer feedback. It’s strategic, visible, and broad in scope, with plenty of hands-on execution to bring the story to life.About the role
Strategy & Positioning
- Own the category positioning for Harness Feature Management and Experimentation.
- Define messaging, value props, and competitive differentiation vs. LaunchDarkly, Statsig, Optimizely, and others.
- Partner with Product to bring customer and market insights directly into roadmap decisions.
- Represent the product in CABs, QBRs, and analyst briefings to ensure the voice of the customer is heard.
Sales & Field Enablement
- Build playbooks, training, and competitive battle-cards that help the field win.
- Support high-stakes opportunities with product and persona expertise.
- Ability to jump on a call at the last minute to demo the product for a prospect and help sales win the next meeting.
- Identify and write compelling customer success stories that highlight business outcomes.
- Partner with Sales on win/loss analysis and pipeline insights to sharpen GTM execution.
Content & Evangelism
- Develop thought leadership assets: blogs, briefs, videos, presentations, and campaigns.
- Spin up a sample app, integrate an SDK, and flip some flags to showcase our capabilities.
- Represent Harness at webinars, conferences, and in customer-facing conversations.
- Recruit and prepare customer speakers for summits and events.
Insights & Growth
- Perform funnel analysis to uncover optimization opportunities and drive adoption.
- Lead win/loss and competitive intelligence to keep Harness sharp against market trends.
- Gather and synthesize customer/market feedback to improve messaging and influence product strategy.
About you
- 7+ years in product marketing or a technical role (product management, solutions engineering, architecture).
- Strong foundation in the software delivery lifecycle — you understand how developers ship and manage code.
- Experience with developer tooling, feature management, data/analytics platforms, or experimentation frameworks.
- Equally comfortable shaping high-level strategy and demoing features hands-on.
- Exceptional communicator with a knack for turning technical detail into compelling customer value stories.
- Collaborative, creative, and energized by working across product, sales, and marketing.
Bonus Points
- Direct experience marketing or competing in the feature flagging/experimentation category.
- Background as a developer relations engineer, solutions engineer, or sales engineer, looking to pivot into marketing.
- We once crowned a “Feature Wizard” at an event — if you’d wear that robe proudly, you’ll fit right in. Extra points if you secretly (or not so secretly) enjoyed the Fun with Flags skits on The Big Bang Theory.
What Success Looks Like
To give you a sense of the impact we care about, here are a few example metrics we use to measure success in this role. You don’t need to have all of these in your background — but if you do, highlight them in your resume:

- Pipeline influenced or created by your campaigns, content, or enablement.
- Sales confidence & adoption of your playbooks, training, and competitive tools.
