POSITION SUMMARY
We are embarking on a journey to revolutionize database management and deployment processes. We're seeking a Head of Product with deep expertise in CI/CD methodologies and a proven track record in database versioning tools. This leader will spearhead the integration of database changes into a CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless, automated, and version-controlled database migrations. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical acumen, strategic vision, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring database operations are consistent, efficient, and aligned with rapid release cycles.
ABOUT THE ROLE
- Product Strategy and Vision:
- Build on the Company’s vision of leveraging CI/CD and Database DevOps to create an integrated offering.
- Align the product roadmap with the organization's business goals and technology initiatives.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in database management and DevOps.
- Team Leadership:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of Database DevOps professionals.
- Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to team members.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team culture.
- Product Development:
- Drive the development and maintenance of Database DevOps tools and solutions.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of features and enhancements.
- Manage product development, release cycles, and quality assurance processes.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including database administrators, software engineers, and operations teams.
- Collaborate with business leaders, customers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
- Performance and Scalability:
- Ensure the performance, scalability, and reliability of Database DevOps solutions.
- Optimize and automate database provisioning, configuration, and monitoring processes.
- Security and Compliance:
- Maintain a strong focus on database security, compliance, and data privacy.
- Implement and enforce best practices for data protection and access control.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the product's budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor costs and seek cost-saving opportunities.
- Product Marketing:
- Collaborate with marketing teams to create and execute go-to-market strategies.
- Assist in product positioning, marketing materials, and customer education.
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success.
- Provide regular reporting to executive leadership on the product's performance and milestones.
ABOUT YOU
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in database management, DevOps practices, and dev-ops technologies, including supporting multiple OSS technologies including but not limited to Flyway, DBDeploy, Gitea, and Liquibase.
- Proven leadership experience in a similar role, managing product development teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of database systems, cloud services, and automation tools.
- Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA) and security best practices.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies and tools
