Databricks is looking for a Senior Director, Head of Global Accounting to lead our global accounting teams located in US, London, Costa Rica and India. In this role, you will drive excellence in the global close process through transformation initiatives, continuous improvement in the global accounting process and help drive the expansion of our global shared services footprint. You will partner across Finance, IT, Procurement, Equity Administration, Legal, Payroll, and Technical Accounting.
The impact you will have:
- You will lead one of the largest teams in our accounting org focused on: US & International accounting, Intercompany and Consolidation, Payroll Accounting, Transformation, Accounting Shared Services and Accounts Payable
- Serve as the enterprise-wide Global Process Owner for Record to Report, accountable for the design, standardization, scalability, and performance of R2R processes globally.
- Oversee the overall Global Consolidation process and ensure that the preparation of consolidated financial statements are in accordance with US GAAP / IFRS
- Build and scale the global accounting team through various strategic initiatives including leveraging technology for automation and expanding our global shared services footprint in India and Costa Rica
- Partner with external auditors to ensure successful completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and governance practices, continually refining team policies and procedures
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global accounting team across multiple geographies
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the finance organization
What we look for:
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience, preferably with a mix of external audit/consulting and industry experience within publicly traded companies
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Accounting or relevant field and CPA designation preferred
- Deep accounting expertise with thorough knowledge of current GAAP standards
- Experience with operational accounting, including consolidation
- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a talent for developing and motivating teams
- Skilled at managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines
- Strong problem solving, planning, quality control, adaptability and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Process-oriented with experience in documenting processes and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical and compliance concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticipates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
