The impact you will have

  • Contribute to the infrastructure and operations needed to facilitate a successful user research program at Databricks
  • Use user research investments to make our products simpler and more unified for our customers
  • Advocate for user research practices and build internal partnerships that allow UXR to be integrated successfully within the organization
  • Contribute to a COE (Center of Excellence) model that allows for scalable adoption of user research practices - driven by your program and materials. You will create and publish a set of resources for Bricksters that provides tools, guidelines and best practices which will help to democratize user research methodologies across Databricks so that any Brickster working on our products will have guidance for how to engage in research with our customers
  • Lead user research projects for high stakes projects
  • Champion user research holistically across Databricks
  • You will contribute to the back office infrastructure for a user research program at Databricks to thrive including partnering with legal, finance and other teams that help enable excellent participant recruiting and compensation

What we look for

  • Mixed methods researcher who can successfully design and implement user research programs and processes
  • Advanced understanding of data team personas including machine learning engineers, data scientists and administrators
  • Advanced understanding of software development practices; ability to communicate with engineers and stakeholders on technical matters and nuances of the developer experience (DX)
  • Expert working knowledge of the product design process and how and when user research can add maximum value
  • Data analysis and operationalization skills (SQL, HEAP)
  • Degree in human computer interaction, psychology, cognitive science or related field

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
