About the Role:

We are seeking a visionary and results-driven Senior Director of Technical Program Management to lead our technical execution strategy and ensure alignment between our core business objectives and engineering delivery. This role will serve as the strategic connective tissue between the product, engineering, and business organizations.

The ideal candidate will be a deep technical expert with proven business acumen, capable of leading complex, multi-year initiatives and building a high-performing TPM organization that drives predictability, market responsiveness, and data-informed decision making.

What You'll Be Working On:

  • Roadmap Leadership: Act as the primary strategic partner to Product and Business leadership to translate long-term company goals into a cohesive, actionable multi-year technical roadmap.
  • Data-Driven Execution and Risk Management: Proactively identify significant technical, organizational, and business risks across the portfolio. Establish and maintain real-time execution dashboards and metrics, ensuring executive decision-makers are constantly supplied with objective data on delivery status, velocity, and risk exposure to drive informed prioritization.
  • Capacity and Investment Planning: Own the technical resource forecasting and planning process to ensure adequate funding and staffing are allocated to the highest-priority initiatives, communicating trade-offs clearly.
  • Market Responsiveness and Agility: Establish organizational processes that enable rapid pivots and responses to urgent customer needs, competitive shifts, or emerging opportunities. Drive the structure required for the engineering organization to maximize its agility and adaptability.
  • Risk and Opportunity Management: Proactively identify significant technical, organizational, and business risks across the portfolio. Design and lead mitigation strategies in partnership with executive stakeholders.
  • Dependency Management: Govern and resolve critical cross-organizational dependencies that block major business outcomes, ensuring engineering priorities align with immediate market needs.

  • Execution Frameworks: Define, implement, and evangelize a consistent, scalable, and lightweight technical program management framework as a means to achieve predictability, efficiency, and transparency across all engineering teams.
  • Predictability and Quality: Establish and track high-level key performance indicators for engineering health, predictability, and velocity, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance delivery quality and speed.
  • Large-Scale Program Ownership: Directly oversee and steer the most complex, high-risk technical programs
  • Build the TPM Function: Define the vision, strategy, and organizational structure for the TPM function. Recruit, mentor, and develop a world-class team of Technical Program Managers.
  • Cultural Leadership: Champion a culture of accountability, transparency, and data-driven decision-making within engineering and across partner organizations.
  • Executive Communication: Deliver crisp, concise, and high-fidelity communications to the executive leadership team regarding program status, strategic challenges, and resource constraints, ensuring clear alignment at the highest level.


What You'll Bring to the Team:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Technical Program Management within a high-growth, fast-paced technology company.
  • 5+ years of experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of TPMs, including experience in organizational design and scaling teams.
  • Deep technical fluency and working experience in [Specify Core Technology, e.g., Cloud Infrastructure, SaaS platforms, Distributed Systems, ML/AI].
  • Proven ability to influence technical leaders and executive stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, capable of articulating complex technical challenges to non-technical business partners and presenting strategic plans to executives.
  • Demonstrated experience translating business strategy into technical delivery and defining metrics to measure success.


Bonus Points

  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • Experience operating in a scaled Agile/Scrum environment.
  • Experience managing programs with external dependencies or partner integrations.

Compensation Range

Compensation will be paid in the range of up to $265,000 – $332,000 + Bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers. Compensation to be determined by the applicants knowledge, education, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
