Joining Collibra’s Software Engineering team
Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will build and lead a new team dedicated to our Cloud Site offering. This team is at the center of a key strategic initiative, creating a sibling product of the existing Edge product line, offering a Collibra-hosted and managed platform that allows our customers to securely connect to and gain insights from their data. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping this product from its early stages, partnering closely with product and engineering to deliver significant value to both our customers and internal Collibra engineering teams.

This is a hybrid role based in our Prague office. Our hybrid model means you’ll work from the office at least two days each week. This setup helps us stay connected, work more closely together, and keep making progress as a team.
As a Software Engineering Manager at Collibra, you will be responsible for
- Building, leading, and mentoring a high performance team of software engineers, while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and customer focused team culture.
- Guiding the team's technical strategy and architectural decisions in order to build a scalable, secure, and reliable platform on Kubernetes and public cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP).
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Architects, and other engineering teams to define the product roadmap and ensure timely delivery of features that meet customer needs.
- While using agile techniques, managing the full software development lifecycle for the Cloud Site team in order to deliver incremental value, from planning and development to deployment and operations.
- Building the team by attracting, hiring, and retaining engineering talent to ensure the team has the skills and capacity to meet its goals.
You have
- 5+ years of experience in a technical role such as software engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in a people management role leading an engineering team.
- Experience building or operating significant systems on public cloud platforms (AWS or GCP).
- Experience building or operating significant platform systems built on Kubernetes
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent related working experience.
- Work authorization for Prague, Czech Republic. Please note, this is a full-time employment position; we are not considering B2B or freelance arrangements at this time.

- A technical leader with a background in platform engineering, focused on building services that empower other engineering teams.
- Familiar with building and operating applications on Kubernetes, integrating with public cloud technologies, and using languages like Java and Golang.
- A proactive and clear communicator, skilled at articulating technical concepts to both engineering and business partners.
- A dedicated builder of high performance teams, with experience in hiring, mentoring, and developing the careers of your fellow Collibrians.
- An advocate for continuous learning and improvement for yourself, your team, and the technology you build.
Measures of success are
- Within your first month, you will have: Integrated with your key product and engineering partners, understood the Cloud Site vision, and begun the process of building your engineering team.
- Within your third month, you will have: Established the team and started delivering initial value for the Cloud Site product, contributing to a clear roadmap for the future.
- Within your sixth month, you will have: Led your team to become a fully integrated and high performing engineering group at Collibra, consistently shipping features and improvements that impact our customers.
