Marketing & Communications
Bengaluru, Karnataka, India
Company Description
About the Group/Team
CJKI is the group responsible for making Canva feel like a local product in four of its most dynamic markets - China, Japan, Korea, and India. We sit within Canva's International Supergroup, whose mission is to empower those closest to our international customers to drive Truly Local growth across our top 40 markets.
Our group operates with genuine autonomy, building in-market functions across marketing, product, engineering, data, and user voice - with the support of Canva's central teams behind us.
India is one of our most active and ambitious subgroups, with growing teams in SEO, marketing, and product all working toward the same goal: making Canva indispensable for Indian creators, educators, and businesses, and growing our active user base in the country.
Job Description
About the Role/Specialty
This is a opportunity to help build Canva's marketing presence for users across India - across social, product surfaces, and YouTube. You'll create content that shows up where Indian users actually are: on Canva's homepage, in the product itself, on their social feeds, and on YouTube where hundreds of millions of Indians search for how-tos, tools, and inspiration every day.
You'll work closely with the India Marketing team, with clear direction and room to develop your craft. This isn't a single-channel role - you'll stretch across ad scripts, product interface copy, CMS management, and video content, getting a real view of what full-funnel content marketing looks like in one of the world's most exciting digital markets.
What you’ll do (responsibilities)
Script and produce a bank of social ads for use in always-on marketing - creating a range of scripts across formats, audiences, and messages so the India Marketing team always has fresh, tested content to work with.
Create content for Canva's product interfaces - including the logged-out homepage (LOHP) and logged-in homepage (LIHP) - writing copy that speaks directly to Indian users and reflects local context, not just global defaults.
Manage end-to-end content distribution & CMS uploads for homepage and landing page properties including Homepage Highlights and Showcases - handling briefing, copy, production coordination, and publishing so these surfaces stay current and locally relevant.
Plan, create and grow a localised, social-first Canva Design School on Canva India YouTube - developing a content series structured around how Indian users search, with episodes designed for discoverability and real design utility.
Collaborate closely with the India Marketing and India Content Creative teams to align your output with broader campaigns and priorities.
Incorporate feedback quickly and build your understanding of what great marketing content looks like at Canva across each of these surfaces.
Qualifications
What we're looking for
You write clearly and versatilely across formats - from punchy ad scripts to instructional video copy to product interface language - and you understand that great content for India isn't just translated content, it's written with local context from the start. (Communicates with Clarity and Impact)
You're an avid Canva user who knows the product's workflows and use cases inside out - you can speak credibly about what Canva can do, and that knowledge shows up naturally in the content you create. (Technical Expertise)
You have experience creating content for digital channels, whether through a role, internship, or personal project, and you're genuinely curious about how marketing, video, and product content work together to influence how people discover and adopt a product. (Delivers Value to Customers)
You have a sharp eye for social and design trends - you're the kind of person who spots an emerging content format or visual style early, and can translate that into new content buckets and ideas for Canva in India. (Going Beyond the Brief, Thinks Strategically)
You take genuine ownership of your output - you flag blockers early, manage your own time across multiple content surfaces, and care about whether your work actually lands with users. (Hustling Like an Owner)
You're comfortable working to a brief and taking feedback in your stride - you see revision as part of the craft, not a setback. (Learning Fast, Embracing Change)
You're energised by the idea of building something new: a YouTube channel, a script bank, a set of homepage surfaces that feel truly local to Indian users. (Hustling Like an Owner)
You connect your content instincts to what Indian users actually need from Canva - you think about who's reading, watching, or clicking before you write. (Thinking User First)
You're based in Bangalore and ready to contribute across a range of content types from day one.
Additional Information
What you will learn and how you will develop at Canva
Multi-surface content marketing - you'll develop real experience writing for social ads, product interfaces, CMS-managed homepage properties, and YouTube in a single role, giving you a rounded view of how content works across the funnel.
YouTube& video content strategy - you'll learn how to build a content series designed around search behaviour, create for discoverability, and grow an audience in one of the world's most competitive YouTube markets.
Canva's brand and voice across formats - you'll develop a strong working sense of how Canva communicates, and learn to apply that consistently whether you're writing a six-second ad script or a five-minute tutorial outline.
A strong, diverse content portfolio - over 12 months, you'll have published work across ad scripts, product interfaces, homepage content, and YouTube - a range most early-career content specialists don't get until much later.
