About the role
This is a 12 months Fixed Term Contract covering parental leave.
We’re looking for an Operations Business Partner to supercharge how our Infrastructure team delivers, connects, and scales. This Supergroup is a 265 person team of Engineers, Product and Designers, and this role is at the heart of helping them all work together seamlessly.
Reporting to the Chief of Staff of Platforms, you’ll be the glue that connects goals, people, and processes, making sure our teams have the clarity, tools, and support they need to do their best work. From owning team cadences to orchestrating team rituals, events, and culture-building moments, to delivering special projects, you’ll be creating the smooth rhythms that helps the org thrive. If you love building scalable processes, enabling others, and get energy from helping cross functional teams succeed this could be the role for you.
What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Running smooth goal cadences: Making planning cycles seamless, connecting the big picture to day-to-day progress, and highlighting wins, blockers, and dependencies.
Operationalising ways of working: Streamlining org-wide cadences (e.g. All Hands, research, specialty reviews) to ensure they deliver value.
Driving cultural connection: Organising large scale events, rituals, and connection points that bring our globally distributed team together, from AU celebrations to major onsite events.
Turning insights into action: Partnering with People Partners and Leads to translate Pulse feedback into meaningful improvements across Infra & Product Platform.
Supporting special projects: Stepping into high-impact initiatives (like Hackathons, Canva World Tour, or specialty process rollouts), or working with Finance to build out centralised view for budgets to working with the Chief of Staff to roll out a risk management framework.
Building visibility: Designing dashboards and reports that give leaders clear, trusted insights into performance and outcomes.
Experimenting with AI + automation: Identifying opportunities to reduce manual effort, trial new tools, and unlock efficiencies at scale.
You're probably a match if
You have a few years experience in operations, program/project management, or an equivalent team-enabling role.
You’re based in Sydney, with flexibility to be in the office at least once a week and when needed..
You have experience running special projects across budgeting, risk management, large scale event management etc.
You’re passionate about team culture and connection and you enjoy creating experiences (onsites, events, rituals) that make distributed teams feel engaged and included.
You’re a systems thinker who loves turning complexity into clarity — whether that’s mapping dependencies, simplifying processes, or helping others see the big picture.
You thrive in ambiguity when priorities shift or problems don’t have a clear owner, you lean in, figure it out, and bring people with you.
You’re an excellent communicator, able to influence , craft clear updates, rally teams, and make sure no one misses the context.
You’re curious about AI and automation and not afraid to test new tools and find smart ways to reduce manual effort and unlock scale.
You operate with judgment, and urgency knowing when to dive into the details, and zoom out to see the big picture.
