About the Role

Join our growing Accounting team at Abnormal AI as a Staff Accountant, where you will play a key role in strengthening and scaling our cash management and collections processes. This position is ideal for a highly analytical and detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

You will take ownership of cash application and reconciliations, ensure accuracy across financial systems and collaborate cross-functionally to drive efficiency and automation. What you will do

  • Own and reconcile daily cash transactions with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Partner with the Accounts Payable and Order Management to match and reconcile cash activity.
  • Review, record and reconcile corporate credit card and travel & expense (T&E) transactions.
  • Leverage ERP systems to streamline and automate account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and analyze month fluctuation analysis to support financial reporting.
  • Support the creation of cash reporting dashboards that deliver actionable insights to leadership.
  • Investigate and resolve general ledger and treasury variances to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for cash, collections and accounts payable operations.
  • Build strong partnerships across Accounting, FP&A and Operations to optimize workflows and drive scalability.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects that enhance efficiency across the Finance organization.

Must Haves

  • 2+ years of professional experience, with a strong foundation in general ledger and journal entries.
  • Demonstrated skill in cash application and bank, credit card, T&E and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles.
  • Highly analytical, with strong proficiency with Excel and comfort working with large data sets.
  • Proven problem-solving ability with meticulous attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Coupa, Navan and Brex preferred.
  • Initiative to build efficiencies and process improvements within accounting workflows.
  • Forward-thinking mindset and curiosity about artificial intelligence (AI) and how it can be used to improve accounting accuracy, automation and efficiency.

At Abnormal AI, certain roles are eligible for a bonus, restricted stock units (RSUs), and benefits. Individual compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Base salary range:
$85,000$100,000 USD
