About the Role
Abnormal Security is looking for a Content Marketing Manager to join our Content & Communications team. This role will be responsible for distilling complex technical information related to email attacks and trends into clear, concise, and engaging content. Leveraging your expertise in cybersecurity and strong communication skills, you will create consideration-level white papers, blog posts, and other educational materials to empower our customers with the knowledge needed to understand the evolving threat landscape and utilize Abnormal products to mitigate the risk effectively.
What You Will Do
- Own the strategy and execution for consideration-level marketing content that focuses on the solutions available to solve the problems discussed in the awareness-level content, with a specific focus on white papers, webinars, and blog posts.
- Work across the marketing team to create the content calendar, publishing at least one major asset and an average of 2-3 blog posts each month.
- Provide analysis and commentary on internal data and external industry reports.
- Conduct in-depth online research and interviews with SMEs to drive the content that fuels blog posts, webinars, solution briefs, and other content pieces that push prospects through the marketing funnel and help in upsell efforts to current customers.
- Stay abreast of emerging threats, industry trends, high-profile attacks, and advancements in email security technologies to enhance the depth and relevance of our documentation.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including researchers, engineers, data scientists, and product managers, to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Partner with customer marketing, partner marketing, and sales enablement to provide content support across Influitive, Impartner, and Highspot for distribution to customers, partners, and prospects.
- Ensure artifact completeness by anticipating media/customer questions and ensuring that published content reflects the corresponding answers.
- Measure the results and effectiveness of content marketing to improve performance.
- Collaborate across the marketing team to optimize new and existing content for search engines, promote new assets across owned platforms, post engaging content to social media, and ensure appropriate distribution across all relevant channels.
- Maintain an editorial calendar and coordinate publication with other teams.
Must Haves
- Proven experience as a writer in the cybersecurity industry or in technical investigative journalism, preferably with 4+ years of experience.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, including common threats and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with a proven ability to analyze and interpret complex data.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively, and establishing relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure collective success.
- A strong understanding of the buyer’s journey and how various types of content lead prospects through the marketing funnel from awareness to consideration to evaluation.
- Proven success managing multiple projects and deadlines via strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
- Ability to understand new technologies quickly and become a subject matter expert.
Nice to Haves
- A degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and an enthusiasm for data-driven marketing, with experience in Google Analytics, Marketo, and Salesforce.
